The Visitor Center at Artesa is a delight to behold.
Our guests reach it by a sweeping staircase bordered by cascading waterfalls.
The stairs ascend past beautiful fountains, reflecting pools and sculpture.
At the top, visitors are struck by the panoramic vistas of Napa Valley, Carneros and the San Francisco Bay. A broad walkway leads past manicured lawns to the winery entrance.
One step over the threshold and the setting transforms into a spectacular modernist interior, full of rich woods, expanses of glass and dozens of smooth columns. The building is often compared to an art museum. And, indeed, its walls and vast spaces are filled with works by our celebrated Artist in Residence. The Visitor Center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The last tasting is performed daily at 4:30 p.m. |

Terrace Perhaps the best location to enjoy our ultra-premium still and sparkling wines is at a table on our terrace, which offers breathtaking views of Carneros and the Bay Area. Look for Mt. Diablo in the East Bay, Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County, or downtown San Francisco. But beware of the capricious Carneros wind which can lift your glass off of your table. Courtyard At the very center of the visitor center is a quiet place typical of Spanish architecture. Our open-air courtyard focuses on a striking sculpture of a braided Madonna and Child surrounded by a still pool of water. Nearby, water trickles gently from a large stone column. ![]() |

Carneros Center For those who relish a learning experience, a stroll through this center is both fun and enlightening. A topographical map of this unique region is surrounded by dramatic photography portraying the compass points of Carneros. You'll also find informative panels illustrating the history, natural history and special qualities of this appellation that make it ideal for growing wine grapes. Codorniu Museum A history of wine, winemaking, and one exceptional winemaking family all can be found in our museum. You'll see a portrait of the Raventós family, owners of Spain's Codorníu Group and the founders of Artesa. The children in the photograph represent the 16th and 17th generations of this family in the wine business. You'll find century-old sparkling wine disgorging equipment, a wine press and huge oak cask dating from the mid-16th century, Roman amphorae, and Greek and Etruscan wine cups from 500 B.C. ![]() |
