Artesa Winery Launches Cabernet Sauvignon 2002
CARNEROS (July 15, 2005) - Artesa Winery is pleased to introduce the newest entry to their portfolio, the Artesa Cabernet Sauvignon Napa-Sonoma County 2002.
This Cabernet Sauvignon offers an exciting balance of bright Napa and Sonoma Cabernet fruit - 76% of grapes from Napa County, and 24% from Sonoma County - to achieve an elegant complexity. Bright raspberry, cherry and cassis fruit form the center, and around this fruit core are finely integrated clove, cinnamon, anise and cedar cigar-box notes. The broad shouldered Cab tannins are tapered with oak sweetness and vanillin. This wine was aged for 24 months in 50% new and 50% used French oak barrels, and will continue to evolve for five to seven years yet is delicious right now.
"This is a wonderful wine that has all the power of Napa Valley Cabernet with the aromatic intensity of our Alexander Valley mountainside fruit. The freedom to craft such a balanced blend typifies our commitment to wine quality," said Dave Dobson, Artesa's Winemaker.
At a suggested retail price of $25 and widely accessible at retail, the Artesa Cabernet Sauvignon Napa-Sonoma County 2002 is destined to become a welcome addition to any dinner table.
"We are dedicated to using only the finest Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from our own estate vineyards. This wine's quality is evident immediately upon opening, as is the case with our increasingly Napa-based portfolio," added Mike Kenton, President of Artesa.
Artesa Winery, located in the Carneros region of Napa Valley, is owned by Codorníu of Spain. Artesa, which means "craftsman" in the Catalan language, celebrated its inaugural release of 8,000 cases in 1999. Since then, Artesa has capitalized on its vineyard holdings and state-of-the-art winemaking equipment to build its critically acclaimed reputation in just six years.
Artesa Wines are marketed nationally by W.J. Deutsch & Sons, Ltd., White Plains, NY.
