Originally from Galicia, in northwest Spain, Albariño is loved for its bright freshness and lively character.

At Artesa, we’re exploring what this remarkable grape can express in California. And there’s a little something in our winemaking approach that makes our Albariño especially interesting.

The Unexpected Ingredient? Concrete.

Here’s something you might not know about our Albariño.

While most of the wine is fermented in stainless steel to preserve its bright, fresh character, a small portion goes into concrete.

Unlike oak, concrete doesn’t introduce flavors like vanilla or toast. Instead, it can help develop a rounder texture and a little more depth, without losing the freshness that makes Albariño so distinctive.

A small detail that makes a lovely difference.
